The Frenchmen do it again, their latest new single 'Stress' from the oh-so-popular debut album ‘†’ has just dropped.
Nothing like the previous, but just as powerful in its own way.
Enjoy.
The most comprehensive retrospective to date of the work of internationally acclaimed Japanese artist Takashi Murakami includes more than ninety works in various media that span the artist’s entire career, installed in more than 18,500 square feet of gallery space. The exhibition © MURAKAMI explores the self-reflexive nature of Murakami’s oeuvre by focusing on earlier work produced between 1992 and 2000 in which the artist attempts to explore his own reality through an investigation of branding and identity, as well as through self-portraiture created since 2000. Two works examining these subjects were a part of a group show, My Reality: Contemporary Art and the Culture of Japanese Animation, presented at the Brooklyn Museum in 2001.

Audrey Kawasaki's latest "She Who Dares" 18x21 oil, graphite and gesso on stained wood panel. Luv it. She's one of my favorite artist and to see her style morph into a darker realm is awesome. Truly beautiful work. The new work will be shown at her solo show Mondo Bizarro in Rome this coming Sept. I wanna see more!!!!
it's tough for me to say this light-heartedly, but do pregnant woman not have any common sense or are they just fucking stupid and ignorant?! this past weekend i saw a documentary on home births ... seems like no one is asking questions these days - or years for that matter.
about a decade or so ago, in my early 20's, i began to research the business of birthing in this greedy country. the thought of bearing a child in a frigid hospital surrounded by clowns dressed in blue pretending to be midwives was the force which led me onto this study. only to discover that most doctors do not encourage natural birthing options, nor do they lend any information on the alternatives to expectant mothers.
what does it mean to be an OBGYN?
Obstetrics and Gynaecology are the two surgical specialties dealing with the female reproductive organs, and as such are often combined to form a single medical speciality
and postgraduate training program. This combined training prepares the
practicing OB/GYN to be adept at the surgical management of the entire
scope of clinical pathology involving female reproductive organs, and
to provide care for both pregnant and non-pregnant patients.
... hence, meaning that they are not schooled on the actual birthing process. They are doctors who perform surgery, and should be called upon IF there is a threatening situation before/during/after the mother bares child. If you are skeptic or just plain ignorant, do your homework. This is a fact.
So why is it that the U.S. has a 1% home birthing rate vs. the rest of the world which is 70-80%? MONEY. what else?
It's a fucked up system that takes away the most important moment in a womans life. They bring you in, pump you with bullshit drugs which makes the baby go ape shit, meanwhile mom is barely aware of whats going on inside her. and before you know it, your gut is split open because you've been in labor for over 3 hrs, and they need that bed for the next victim. Gee, how uneventful.
I can go on and on, but I wont. Whether you are interested in the subject, or not - I highly recommend you check out this documentary.
Satisfaction when trying to score an Obama poster from ObeyGiant. Shepard Fairey has done a swell job on contributing to Obama's campaign with these posters, but trying to get my hands on one has been painful.
A couple weeks ago Obey announced the release of the HOPE version. Shepard had a post saying it would go on sale sometime that day (one of the many days I kept my eye on the site) ... which happened to be a Friday. Long story short, after many hours of stalking the site that Friday evening, HOPE finally became available. To my dismay, I made it as far as PayPal 3x's only to get bumped off the site right when I would go for the "confirm purchase" button. I honestly think I aged like 6 months in those couple hours trying to score this poster. It sold out in minutes.
Sadly, most of the people who got lucky enough to purchase these $30 Obama posters off the obey site, turned them around on eBay for a hefty profit. Greed blows.
In the end, I lost hope, but I didnt give up. Which brings me to this:
Check it out! I got a thank you note from Barack Obama. If he is
elected, maybe I have a get out of jail free card. All kidding aside,
I’m honored to be acknowledged by someone so important to the future of
our country. Also, the Obama campaign asked me to do a poster
illustration for sale on their site. It should be out next week on barackobama.com.-Shepard
